Action Alliance for Patient Safety

The Aktionsbündnis Patientensicherheit e.V. (APS) was founded 11.4.2005 in Düsseldorf. Its headquarters are in Marburg, while its administrative office is in Witten at the Universität Witten/Herdecke. The action alliance is supported for its first three years by the German Federal Ministry of Health and Social Security. Mediaform has been a member of Aktionsbündnis Patientensicherheit e.V. since its inception.

„Only if the correct patient receives the correct, individually optimal, treatment, can medical care be termed as successful. A prerequisite for this is that each patient can be accurately identified at every stage of treatment.” APS   „Using a patient wristband is recommended for: patient in-take and out-patient surgery". APS

Patient wristbands assist patients, doctors and nurses equally and actively contribute to improving a hospital’s organizational structure. Printing surname, given name and date of birth, as well as using barcodes, 2D codes or RFID transponders helps to make all necessary patient information available immediately.
