Top marks for Armilla^® Patient Wristbands

Armilla Patient Wristbands have been classified as safe by the Hohenstein Research Institute, conforming to the strict control guidelines for the biological evaluation of medical devices, according to ISO 10993-5: 1999: “Test for in vitro cytotoxicity”.

Mediaform is the only company to have proven that the patient wristbands do not release any cytotoxic substances that could, for example, trigger allergies. The bio-compatibility testing according to ISO 10993-5 is primarily used in medical products that come into direct contact with body surfaces. Testing for cytotoxicity is recognized as the standard test for medical products and is mandatory. Armilla patient wristbands meet these strict requirements.

The analysis result confirms the positive experiences in the clinic setting: Armilla patient wristbands do not contain any materials that could be damaging to health and are therefore optimal for their intended use.     The research institute Hohenstein tested the Armilla patient wristbands for six diluents, seven organic tin compounds, various heavy metals, 17 prohibited azo compounds, as well as for free and partially cleavable formaldehyde.   In the final evaluation, the institute certifies: “None of the toxins listed above were detected in the present patient wristbands.” The Armilla system solution combines reliable patient identification with more efficient hospital routines.
